Temple-Inland announces promotions

BRODY
Jack C. Sweeny, Temple-Inland Group vice president, announced today Jim Brody and Joe Rodgers have taken new positions within the company.

Brody has been named vice president of Strategic Resources for the Building Products group. Rodgers has been named vice president of Integrated Planning for the Building Products group.

Brody will be responsible for coordinating and managing Temple-Inland's strategic resources including wood supply, shavings, chips, gypsum rock and gypsum paper.

"Jim's leadership experience and insight into our building products group highly qualify him for this important role in our group, said Sweeny. "He will support our efforts to create higher returns on investment by establishing strategic resource plans focusing on lowering costs and improving service to customers."

Brody joined Temple Inland in 1986 and has served in various capacities, including Vice President- Forest, General Operations Leader- Wood Supply Group, and manager of the Buna and Diboll Lumber Operations.

In his new role, Rodgers will ensure the application of an integrated approach to technology across our manufacturing and marketing business processes.

"Joe's knowledge and experience will enable him to maximize our technology resources and create competitive advantages throughout the building products group," said Mr. Sweeny.

Previously, Rodgers served as manager of Integrated Planning. He began with Temple- Inland in 1986 and has served in a variety of manufacturing, forest management and business planning positions.
