Huntington United Methodist Church

December 30 was the first Sunday after Christmas and the altar color is white.

Thought: God is love. We are not here to condemn and judge others and, God finds no joy in our failures and short comings. God's love never gives up, even though at times we may be tempted to give up on ourselves. I Corinthians 13:5.

January Birthdays: John Wesley Tonnel, 6th; Penny Terry Williams, 7th; Jim Tease, Coda Parker Carlin, Jan. 8th; Jared Short, 11th; Peggy Nerren the12th.

Anniversary Blessings to Don and Dee Allen on January 9th.

Our Pastor Martin Doran had surgery Friday, December 28th at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Sunday night Dec. 30th he came home. He has a male nurse. Those going to Houston to check on him were Dr. Keith Whitaker, Dist. Supt. of the Methodist Churches. He lives in Lufkin also, Chuck and Lynda Zimmerman; George, Bill and Linda Perry; Kippy Hopson and Ruby. There could have been others. We are happy to have him home. The Sunday serman was given by Rev. Claude DeCelle. His wife Jane came too.

My sister Fern Nerren is in Woodland Heights Medical Center. She may have surgery on her stomach.

Poinsettias were given in honor of: Martin Doran from Susie Durham; Juanita Hopson, Mary Terry, Heather, Michael and Ashlee from Kippy Hopson and Ruby Hurlburt; Our family from Byford and Sandy Sheffield; Our children from Jim and Janet Thomas; Polly Thinkle from Kaye and Gene Alexander; Gene Earl and Kaye Alexander from George Bill and Linda Perry; Frances Zimmerman, Bernice Maberry from Chuck and Lynda Zimmerman.
