GRANNIE JEWEL STRINGER MCADAMS

Grannie Jewel Stringer McAdams, 87, of Diboll, was born September 10, 1920, in Diboll, Texas, the daughter of the late Allie (Bourrous) and John Stringer. She passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2008, in a Diboll nursing facility.

Mrs. McAdams was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was known as "Grannie" by all who knew and loved her. She loved to have family gatherings. Mrs. McAdams was of the Pentecostal faith, and had lived in the Diboll area all her life.

Survivors include her son, Welton McAdams, and his fiancée, Judy Lilley, of Diboll; son and daughter-in-law, John, Jr., and. Donna McAdams of Diboll; son, Chris McAdams, and his fiancée, Renee Kleinik, of Lufkin; grandchildren, Johnny (Benji) McAdams and wife, Melinda, Welton (P-nut) McAdams, and Lea Shawn, all of Diboll; and fourteen great grandchildren.

Preceding Mrs. McAdams in death were her husband, LV. (Buddy) McAdams; son and daughter-in-law, John, Sr., and Jeanette McAdams; and great granddaughter, Courtney McAdams.

Pallbearers were Johnny (Benji) McAdams, Welton (P-nut) McAdams, Chris McAdams, John McAdams, Jr., Dustin Bailey, Dwayne Thornhill, Gary Fanning and Paul Stringer.

Honorary pallbearers were the men of the First Apostolic Church.

Services for Mrs. McAdams were held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 5, 2008, in the First Apostolic Church of Burke with Bro. Paul Mettlen and Bro. Elzine Strong officiating. Interment followed in the Fairview Cemetery.
