MARGARET G. "MIDGIE" DAVIS

Margaret C. Midgie" Davis, 66, of Lufkin, previously of Colmesneil, was born August 1 5, 1941, in Simms, Texas, the daughter of the late Hazel (Morgan) and E.C. Harden. She passed away on Wednesday, January 2, 2008, in a Lufkin hospital.

Mrs. Davis formerly worked as a switchboard operator. She was also a homemaker and a beloved mother and grandmother. She loved to cook and read. She was a great conversationalist who never met a stranger. Mrs. Davis was a member of Oak Grove Assembly of God Church, and had lived in Lufkin most of her life.

Survivors include her daughter, Jada Davis of Lufkin; son, Cliff Davis of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Jared and Jennifer Davis of Lufkin; and grandchildren, Garett Davis, Kirsten Davis, Ethan Davis and Hallie Davis.

Preceding Mrs. Davis in death was her stepson, Wesley Davis.

Services for Mrs. Davis will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 5, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
