Allen George Brown Funeral services for Allen George Brown, 51, of Lufkin were held Friday, January 25, 2008 at 3:30 p.m. in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Mike Hunter officiating, with a eulogy given by Timmy Carpenter. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mr. Brown was born August 27, 1956 in Dayton, Texas to Velma Louise (Blythe) and Lester George Brown, and died Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at his residence. Mr. Brown had resided in Lufkin most of his life. He was a 1974 graduate of Lufkin High School and played varsity football and baseball. He played Ranger Jr. College baseball, and participated in two JUCO World Series while he was there. He was an automobile and motor home salesman, was a member of the Homer Masonic Lodge #254 A.F. & A.M., and attended First Christian Church. Mr. Brown organized the Hurricane Rita Evacuees softball team. Survivors include his wife, Debbie Brown of Lufkin; son, Austin Brown of Lufkin; daughter, Allison Brown of Lufkin; mother and stepdad, Velma and Jerry Wootton of Houston; brother and sisterin law, Larry and Laura Brown of Kingwood; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gail and Jack Carney of Houston and Peggy and Mickey Bowser of Lufkin; stepsister and brother- in-law, Christina and Sean Seaton of Austin; father-in-law and mother-in- law, Harold and Geneva Newsom of Lufkin; sisters-in-law and brothers-inlaw, Karen and Brian Hughey of Kingwood and Susan and Geoff Brown of Palm City, Florida; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, LG. "Dumpy" Brown. Pallbearers were his nephews, Craig Bowser, John Hackney, Brett Brown, John Meloy, Trevor Croswell and Jim Ross Warren. Honorary pallbearers were Timmy Carpenter, Tony Stephano, Stephen Yates, Robbie Ward, Hal Satterwhite, Randy Murray, Ronnie Arnold and Joe E. James G. Carlisle Graveside services for James G. Carlisle, 62, of Lufkin were held Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at 10:00 am. in the Sims (Rocky Hill) Cemetery with Brother Bruce Thornton officiating. Mr. Carlisle was born July 31, 1945 in Lufkin, Texas, to Thelma Louise (Brimer) and Homer Grady Carlisle, and died Saturday, January 26, 2008 in a local hospital. Mr. Carlisle was a lifetime resident of East Texas, having resided in both the Lufkin and Nacogdoches areas. He served in the US. Air Force, and was a Maintenance Supervisor for Texas Foundries. Mr. Carlisle was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Shawn Carlisle of Lufkin; son, Daniel Dean Damon of Lufkin; brother and sister-inlaw, Charles and Sandra Carlisle of Lufkin; aunts and uncles, Clarine Akridge of Corrigan, Dorothy and Edward Oaters of Huntington and Faye Brimer of Andrews; brother-in-law, Roe Beirose of Center; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Grady Carlisle; mother and stepfather, Louise and Preston "Buster" Oates; brother, Billy Carlisle; and sister, Mary Belrose.
