Jubilee Church

I am thankful that the people of Jubilee Baptist Church have a hunger for the presence of the Lord. All the way through the Word those who wanted to be in the presence of God reflected the glory of God in their lives.

The most dynamic time this is seen in the Scripture is when Moses spends 40 days on the mountain w/ God while The Lord writes the Ten Commandments on the two tables of stone. It does not take a real Bible scholar to know that it did not take 40 days for God to do the writing on the stone. He spoke the whole world into existence in 6 days of creation. A slow handy crafter w/ a sharp stylus could engrave that in a few hours.

God & Moses spent that time face to face and heart to heart. The finger of God not wrote those commandments on the two tables of hard stone but he also gently and graciously engraved them on the tender heart of Moses while he was willingly in the presence of God. When Moses came down from the mountain the people say the glory of God shining through the face of Moses. Spend much time in the presence of the Lord it will surely show in your countenance too.

Shortly after the resurrection Peter and John were preaching to the multitude. They were fishermen with rough working hands. In my mind I see a couple Redneck Country Boys here that just loved Jesus. As they told the story of how Christ had changed their live the educated elite recognized by vocabulary and grammar these were uneducated men. But there was something different about them in that they also perceived that they had been with Jesus. There is just something that shines in the heart of a Christian who spends time in the presence of God.

If you hunger for more time in the presence of God and do not have a church home or a place of regular worship, we invite you to visit with us at Jubilee Baptist Church any Sunday or Wednesday evening.
