Diboll garners first place at mock trial
State competition, in Tyler, was easier the second time

Melissa Hannah, a Lufkin attorney and 1998 DHS graduate, spent many hours with the students as the attorney coach and merits a big thanks from the team and school. DHS sponsors were Mary Ingram and April Bunn.

The Diboll High Mock Trial team competed in Tyler on Saturday, Feb. 9, and won first place. This is the second time for the team to go to state but the first time in the history of Diboll High School for its students to place first.

Team members are Esteban Gonzalez, Rachel Oates, Carlos Palomo, Jonathan Coleman, Francisco Salas, Jorge Ojeda and Stephy Cortes.

Jonathan Coleman received the Best Witness award.

Rachel Oates won the Best Advocate award.
