Daughters of the American Revolution
Fred Preston, President of the Lt. Nathan Gann Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution spoke to the local Daughters of the American Revolution.Preston was in a Revolutionary War uniform. He explained the significance of the uniform which was a copy of one worn by the soldiers from Pennsylvania. Maryland. Delaware and Virginia. Preston's ancestor is Col. Thomas Tinsley of Virginia. Polly Young, Treasurer, presented Mr. Preston with a Certificate of Appreciation after his program. The Anthony Smith Chapter welcomes new and prospective members who think they may be eligible for DAR membership. Please contact Patsy McGill, Regent, at 936-824-3125 for more information. The next meeting will be March 5, 2008 at 2:30 p.m. in the parlor of St. Cyprian's Episcopal Church. Lufkin. TX. The program will include Recognition of the DAR Good Citizens from six local high schools.
