Angelina College Automotive Program students Maitland Rhodes and Jeremy Johnson are the 2008 recipients of the Al Meyer Ford Scholarship, given annually to those students who best exemplify dedication, initiative and performance in the automotive classroom.

Rhodes, of Huntington, and Johnson, of Wells, currently carry a 4.0 GPA, according to AC instructor Brian Nabbs.

"These are two guys who come to class ready to work every single day," Nabbs said. "They're dependable, and they get things done with very little supervision."

Recipients are selected on the basis of leadership skills and overall dependability, along with their prognosis for performing well during the internship portion of the program later in the semester.
