Jessie Doyle Burns

Jessie Doyle Burns, 94, of Lufkin, was born October 12, 1913, in Angelina County, Texas, the son of the late Lovisey Jane (Townsend) and Millard Fillmore Burns. He passed away Wednesday, February 6, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mr. Burns was retired from the R. C. Cola Company, where he was employed as a salesman. He was devoted to his family, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing and listening to music, and enjoyed attending numerous churches.

Survivors include his daughters, Geraldine Renken of Lufkin, Janece Lankford of Beaumont and JoAnn Adams of Guymon, Oklahoma; son, Jerry D. Burns of Lufkin; 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild.

Services for Mr. Burns were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 9, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Blake Powers and Reverend Gary Forrest officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
