Douglas C. Farris Douglas C. Farris, 75, of Lufkin, was born May 24, 1932, in Madisonville, Texas, the son of the late Viola (Strickland) and Nab Chappel Farris. He passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2008, in the Houston V.A. Medical Center. Mr. Farris was a retired boilermaker for Brown & Root. He was a United States Navy veteran. Mr. Farris loved to play dominoes and watch western movies. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and friend, and will be deeply missed. Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Troy Little of Dayton, Texas, Lisa and Danna Bradford of Lufkin, and Jeanie and Leonard Hills of Mesa, Arizona; sisters, Doris Hardin of Lafayette, Louisiana, Janie McGhee of Highlands, Betty Cram of Lufkin, and Nancy Mickel of Baytown; brothers, Carrol Farris of Lufkin, Alfred Earns of Troup, and Billy Ray Farris of Lake Charles, Louisiana; seven grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Preceding Mr. Farris in death were his parents, two brothers and one sister. Pallbearers were Troy Little, Danna Bradford, Jerry Smith, Richard Albrecht, Juan Gamez and John Warren. Services for Mr. Farris were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 11, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Royal Earns officiating. Graveside services followed at 2:30 p.m., Monday in the Burrows Cemetery near Madisonville, Texas. |
