Marjorie Marie Lawson) Kleinik

Funeral services for Marjorie Marie (Lawson) Kleinik, 73, of Lufkin were held Monday, February 11, 2008 at 11:00 am. in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel with Brother Ray Pinner officiating, interment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mrs. Kleinik was born June 10, 1934 in DeRidder, Louisiana to Lillie Mae (Bailey) and l.L. Lawson, and died Saturday, February 9, 2008 in a local hospital.

A former resident of DeRidder, Louisiana and Wharton, Mrs. Kleinik had resided in Lufkin since 1972. She was the 1953 Salutatorian of her graduating class in DeRidder, and had worked as a food service supervisor for the Burke Center. Mrs. Kleinik was a loving mother and grandmother, and was an animal rights activist. She attended the Allentown United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Pete Rodgers of Weogufka, Alabama; sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Shirley Kleinik and Gary and Tammy Kleinik, all of Lufkin; son, Delbert Kleinik of Nacogdoches; six grandchildren; and sister, Margaret McDurmond.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gale Kleinik; daughter, Vicki Simmons; and niece, Diana Kinson.

Pallbearers were Chariton Hough, Bryan Kleinik, David Kleinik and Royce Kleinik.
