Lumberjack baseball ends tough season The year has come to a close for the Diboll Lumberjacks Basketball squad after last weeks season finale in Center. For Head Coach Bryan Kruk and company it was a long and hard season, where the Lumberjacks showed some sign's of progress that will certainly pay dividends next season. In the season finale the result was not quite one to hope for, however the Lumberjacks gave it their all in a 71 - 60 final. "We all can be very proud of the way they played all season long," Kruk said. The Jacks were led on the offensive end of the court by Cornelius Polk and J.J. Hayes. Polk put up 19 huge points, while Hayes added 18 points, 10 rebounds and a aggressive performance all over the court. Also coming up big for the Jacks was Jacolby Spencer and his eight points, seven assists and seven steals on the night. Antonio Johnson also scored eight and three boards. Christian Lovelady had six points and five boards in the affair. Also contributing were Trey Loche, Damion Baldwin and Carlos Palomo. There are some youngsters on this squad that have gained a great deal of experience and should bring that with them next season. |
