Only incumbents filed for poll

Only incumbents have filed as of Monday morning for the city of Diboll's May 10 election, said City Secretary Tina Cavazos.

Fred Mitchell and Louis Ivey have filed for re-election to twoyear terms, while Larry Cook has filed for a one-year term. Cook was appointed to the seat.

Don Gandy's term also is expiring in May, but he has yet to file.

Filing the two-year terms continues until March 10, but ends March 4 for the one-year term.

Diboll school district voters also will face an election May 10. Trustees were expected to call the election at their Tuesday night meeting, after the Free Press deadline.

Trey Wilkerson, Sandy Hendrick and Chuck Mann are the trustees whose terms are expiring. Filing will open after the election is called officially.
