Hattie E. Butler

Hattie E. Butler, 87, of Huntington, was born May 1 8, 1 920, in McCurtain County, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Bessie (Craft) and Alexander Butler. She passed away on Saturday, February 23, 2008, in a Lufkin nursing facility.

A former resident of Pineland, Miss Butler was retired from the Temple-Inland, Pineland Mill. She was also a homemaker and a beloved sister, aunt and friend. Miss Butler loved to cook. She was very outgoing, and had many friends. Miss Butler had resided in Huntington for 25 years, and was a member of Highway Baptist Church.

Survivors include her brothers, G.L. Butler of Pollok and Henry Butler of Lone Oak; nephew and wife, Willis and Dorothy Price of Huntington; nieces, Zelma Nuss of Dallas and Deanna Nuss of Wylie; great niece, Sandra May of Huntington; great-great niece, Meredith May of Huntington; as well as numerous additional nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Preceding Miss Butler in death were her sister, Malissa Price; her brother, James Butler; and great nephew, Michael Price.

Expressions of sympathy in Miss Butler's memory may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 116 S. Raguet, Lufkin, Texas 75904.

Graveside services for Miss Butler were held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2008, in the Sand Flat Cemetery at Pollok with Reverend Lamar Denby officiating.
