Air Force Senior Airman Michael D. Cochran has deployed overseas to a forward operating base in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Cochran, an air transportation specialist with three years of military service, is normally assigned to the 734th Air Mobility Command, Andersen Air Force Base, Agana, Guam.

He is the son of Dennis and Lisa Cochran of Edgewood, Lufkin, Texas.

His wife, Dawn, is the daughter of Don Scaife of Ponape Blvd., Yigo, Guam.

The senior airman is a 2005 graduate of Central High School, Pollok, Texas.

Members from all branches of the U.S. military and multinational forces are assisting in rebuilding Iraq's economic and governmental infrastructure, and training and preparing Iraqi military and security forces to assume full authority and responsibility in defending and preserving Iraq's sovereignty and independence as a democracy.
