Chester Treadaway Chester Treadaway, 83, of Lufkin, was born October 18, 1924, in Etoile, Texas, the son of the late Lula Mae (Curbow) and Tine Treadaway. He passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2008, in a local hospital. Mr. Treadaway was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was retired from Texas Farm Products, following more than 35 years of employment. He was member of the Lufkin Round Table, and was a 50-year member of the Lufkin Masonic Lodge, #669 A.F. and A.M. He was best known for his cooking - he loved baking cakes and pies for special events, and was a winner of numerous Angelina County food shows for his jellies and jams. Mr. Treadaway served his country in the United States Navy during World War II. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, David C. and Jo Treadaway; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Lynn Parker of Argyle; grandchildren, Julie and Jat Treadwell of Tomball, Jonathan D. and Camille Treadaway of Arlington, Trade and Mel Morris of Amarillo; Jon-Michael and Lindsey Parker of Eldorado and Jeffrey. and Mona Parker of College Station; great-grandchildren, Justin Treadwell, Jill Treadwell, Aspen Morris, Brecken Morris, Creeden Morris, Seth Parker, Cade Parker and Jacob Parker; brother, Royce Treadaway of Huntington; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Bertie Treadaway of Lubbock; brother-in-law, Medford Cowart of Lufkin; sister-in- law, Merlene Cowart of Huntington; special friend, Mildred Tucker of Lufkin; and numerous other family members and friends. Pallbearers were Oscar Hightower, Gerald Crump, Keith Swearingen, Boots Morehead, Russell Cummings and Coleman Standley. Honorary pallbearers were Jonathan D. Treadaway, fon-Michael Parker, Jeffrey Parker, Jat Treadwell, Mel Morris, Justin Treadwell, Brecken Morris, Creeden Morris, Seth Parker, Cade Parker and Jacob Parker. Expressions of sympathy in Mr. Treadaway's memory may be made to McMullen Memorial Library, P. 0. Box 849, Huntington, Texas 75949; or to Hospice in the Pines, 116 S. Raguet, Lufkin, Texas 75904. Services for Mr. Treadaway were held at 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Huntington First Baptist Church, with Reverend Brian Williams and Dr. Darryl Smith officiating. Graveside services followed in the Huntington Oddfellow Cemetery. |
