Katy Carolyn Purvis

Katy Carolyn Purvis, 76, was born August 23, 1931, in Angelina County, Texas, the daughter of the late Beulah (Burt) and Reese Free. She passed away Tuesday, March 1 8, 2008, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Purvis was a. loving and devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Keltys United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Carolyn Purvis of Lufkin; son, Kirby Purvis of Longview; and sister, Frances McClure of Atlanta.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Purvis was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Purvis, in 1989.

Services for Mrs. Purvis were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Jacqueline Harmon-Snarr officiating. Interment followed in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
