Public Forum slated for month's end

Diboll Free Press will sponsor a public forum for candidates in the May 10 municipal and school elections at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at Lottie and Arthur Temple Civic Center.

The forum is for candidates in two elections to give brief statements about themselves, qualifications and reasons for running, followed by questions from the audience. Questions must be written and signed. Forms will be provided. Questions may be directed at all candidates or a particular candidate.

Nine men are seeking two twoyear terms and one unexpired, oneyear term on the Diboll City Council. Five men are seeking three threeyear terms on the Diboll school board. City council candidates will speak first, followed by a 30-minute question period, then the school board candidates will repeat the process.

Diboll schools Athletic Director Gary Martel will be master of ceremonies.

The public and especially registered voters are encouraged to attend the forum. There is no admission fee. Light refreshments served.
