Jewell Etta Hieronimus Funeral services for Jewel Etta Hieronimus, 89, of Lufkin, were held Saturday, March 29, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. in the Carroway- Claybar Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kevin Poage officiating. Interment followed in the Sand Flat Cemetery. Mrs. Hieronimus was born August 16, 1918 in Nacogdoches County, Texas to the late Eula (Lee) and Daniel McKey, and died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 in a local nursing home. Mrs. Hieronimus had resided in Lufkin since 1964. She was a homemaker and loved cooking and working in her yard and garden. Mrs. Hieronimus was of the Asernbly of God faith. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Faye and Cliff Pinckard of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Juanita Hieronimus of Henderson; daughter, Betty Goodwin of Pollok; son, James Hieronimus of Fulshoar, daughter and son-in-law, Hazel and Billy Teague of Pollok; 17 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward McKey of Livingston, Lonnie McKey of Wallaceville, Glen McKey of Huntington and James McKey of Anahuac; and sisters, Elizabeth. Jenkins of Cushing1, Louise McShan of Lufkin, Marie Donaldson of Dallas and Bessie Owens of Wells. She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Janus Hieronimus; grandsons, Jerry Browning and Jamie Hieronimus; three brothers; and four sisters. Pallbearers were David Schaeffer, Charles Ricks, William DuBose, Galy Cresswell, Cohn Hieronimus and Jeremy Winters.. Honorary pallbearers were Gearld Davis and Ricky Crawford. |
