Diboll FFA state bound in May

Three teams from Diboll FFA advanced to state competition after competing in the Area IX FFA Career Development Event Tuesday, April 8, at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville.

The state meet is April 25 and also will be at SHSU.

The Ag Mechanics Team placed second and will advance. Team members are Franke Salas, eighth high point individual; Alejandro Zamora, third high point individual; Orlando Concha, 11th high point individual; and Faustino Salaiz.

Floriculture Judging Team placed fifth and advances. Members are Rochelle Miranda, 12th high point individual; Kimberly Lowther; Heather Weeks; and Monica Moreno.

Ag Sales Team presented a sales pitch for cattle feed and placed fifth, also advancing. Members are J.R. Youngblood; Rachel Oates, eighth place high individual; and Eddie Esteves.

Also competing at the area meet were the Livestock Judging Team of -Cody Miller, 18th high point individual; Krystal Ferguson; Sarah Capps; and Daniel Eddins; and the Poultry Judging Team of Randy Summers, Adam Lowther, Colin Lowther and Jennifer Reeder.

Diboll FFA members also participated at the McGee Bend District FFA Convention April 10.Lindsey Chandler sang her way to second place in the Talent Competition. Hallie Smith received second in the Junior Prepared Speaking Event. John David Eddins was named Star Greenhand FFA member for district level. All three advance to area level competition May 5-6 at Stephen F. Austin State University
