Jacks land on All-District Soccer Team

Diboll's first ever Soccer team recently completed their first season of competition. Now comes the first players in Lumberjack Soccer history to receive individual accolades for their performances on the field and in the classroom. Front row: Guadalupe Alonso was a second team all district selection, Juan Robles was a First team all district selection for the boys soccer team. Back row Academic all district players: Francisco Salas, Estaban Gonzales, and Esteban Solis
For the Diboll Lumberjacks Soccer squad it was an experience that no other group of athletes had ever experienced in Diboll. For the first time ever the Jacks had hit the soccer field in organized competition.

As a member of District 18 4-A the Jacks not only found themselves competing for the first time ever in soccer, but they also had to do it against some bigger schools with long established programs.

None the less after a long hard season that this team played comes the first ever individual awards in Lumberjack Soccer history.

Juan Robles was a First team All District 18 4-A selection for the boys soccer team and historically speaking the first Diboll Lumberjack to ever receive such an honor.

Also making a niche in Lumberjack lore is Guadalupe Alonso with his selection to the Second Team All District 18 4-A.

Finally there were three Academic All District 18 4-A players named from Diboll. Those Lumberjacks were Francisco Salas, Estaban Gonzales, and Esteban Solis.

Coached by Alejo Pacini the Lumberjacks made an excellent showing in their first year of existence and are sure to improve next season.

"They played hard through a tough first season," Pacini summed up.

There is no doubt that each of these young men has worked very hard and should be congratulated for their historic first.
