Ryan Chapel Cemetery

Few people remember the Sunday afternoon in September, 1926 when the old church was nearly filled for the purpose of forming a Cemetery Association to raise money to have the cemetery cleaned of grass as needed.

The first celebration was held in 1927 with the pews moved out under the trees. There was singing, poems recited and the speaker was the State Representative. A homecoming has been continued yearly. It was changed from the Sunday nearest to Memorial Day to the first Sunday in June.

You are invited to come again on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at about 9:30 am to visit and walk through the well-kept cemetery. Worship Services will be at 11 am. We will spread our lunches at 12 noon. There will be a singing service at 1 pm. For additional information contact Charles Weeks 829-5125.
