The Huntington United Methodist Women have received the five silver star for outstanding work from the District.

Pastor Doran has mentioned in an earlier bulletin and in conversations with many of us, Dist. Supt. Keith Whitker is moving to Pearland just after Annual Conference. On May 4th at 5:30 pm, at First Church Lufkin the District will gather for a going away gig on their behalf. This is a time when Keith will be "roasted and toasted."

The Pricilla Circle meet once a month, the third Thursday, at 6p.m. Our meeting starts off with a devotional, then we have Bible Study. We have just begun studying a book called "You Matter More Than You Think". After that, we discuss any future business, such as plannirg Fourth Sunday luncheons and any other meals we know of in the near future. We close by going over our prayer list, and lifting each other up in prayer.

Our next long-term goal is to remodel our kitchen area in the Fellowship Hall. The current kitchen, built when the church was built, was not designed for cooking for large crowds (we have fed as many as 80 folks at one meal) We are making plans on what we want our kitchen to look like when we're through, then we'll take those plans to the Trustees to work with them on an implementation plan. One of our past projects was to have tile put down in the Narthex and the Fellowship Hall.

We enjoy our work, whether it's feeding the crowds or cleaning the church on Thursday mornings. But even more important, we greatly enjoy the fellowship of each other. The ladies in our group range in age from the young to the young-at-heart.

We would love to have you join us! If you feel you can't drive at night, let one of us know so we can pick you up and bring you home. We have members living in Lufkin, out 2109, near Etoile and all over!
