Yard Beautiful homes selected

The home of Jimmy Mettlen, 510 Arrington, has been selected by the Diboll Garden Club as the first-place winner for the Northeast area of Diboll in the May 8-9 judging.

In second place was the home of Rick Hill, 1103 Redbud, and third place was awarded to the home of Paul Geye, 603 Arrington. Judging will take place May 15-16 for the Southeast area beginning on Dennis and bordered by U.S. 59 to the south Diboll city limit. Future dates and locations of judging are May 22-23, the Southwest area beginning on the south side of Thompson and onto Martin Luther King, bordered by U.S. 59 to the south city limits; and May 29-30, the Fair Acres area. The Diboll Garden Club urges everyone still eligible to participate. The winner will receive a yard sign designating the home as the "Yard Beautiful" for the week and a photo will appear in the Diboll Free Press.
