Ida Mae Allen Ida Mae Allen, 81, of Allentown, was born June 1 5, 1 926, in Ellis County, Texas, the daughter of the late Ida Mae (Britt) and Jeff Walker. She passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008, in a local hospital. Mrs. Allen was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a homemaker. Her pride was her family and her home. She loved antique furniture and enjoyed sewing. She also loved to travel to Colorado and the deer lease at Mason. But most of all, she loved her children and grandchildren. She was a member of Allentown Pentecostal Church. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, June and Hollis McAdams of Lufkin; son, Randy Lane Allen of Lufkin; grandchildren, Scott McAdams and wife Joyce, April McAdams Brewer and husband Robert, Ronnie Lane Allen and wife Karena, Brad Allen, Alicia Allen, Amanda Allen and Rebekah Capps; great-grandchildren, Jaeden McAdams, Katie Allen and Sequoia Allen; brother-in-law, J. D. Pitts; sisters in-law, Frances Allen and Patsy Walker; special friend, Betty Oliver; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members. Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Talmage "Dank" Allen; and three brothers, Aubrey Walker, Dan Walker and Herman Walker. Pallbearers were Scott McAdams, Brad Allen, Ronnie Allen, Robert Brewer, Bobby Allen and W. C. Allen. Expressions of sympathy in Mrs. Allen's memory may be made to the Gann Cemetery Association, P. 0. Box 3022, Lufkin, Texas 75903. Services for Mrs. Allen were at Noon Saturday, May 10, 2008, in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Ray Pinner and Reverend R. G. "Bud" Davis officiating. Interment followed in the Gann Cemetery. |
