New Outdoors section coming next week in the DFP As we continue to improve all of our coverage here in the Diboll Free Press we also continue the areas in which we cover. Starting next week our longtime column by Woody Cooper will be moving to a whole new section. Now do not worry you will still be receiving the same old musings and diatribes about fishing and growing up that you have come accustomed to reading in See You on the Lake every week in the DFP. Joining Woody will be a new outdoors column by a young East Texas writer, Josh Tallina. His column Taming the East Texas Wild will cover a variety of issues, from fishing, both fresh and salt water to the wonders of hunting. Tallina will offer tips, practices and some wonderful stories from the Deep East Texas Pines all the way to the Gulf Coast. Here is a sampling of what to expect from our newest member to DFP Sports team: From the piney woods of East Texas to the seabreeze of the gulfshores, hunting and fishing have always been the two things that keep me and many others like myself going. Last night I sat in the Palo Duro canyon viewing a play, I couldn't keep my mind off the fact that people were probably at the gulf catching specks and at the lakes catching bass. That's what I feel makes our region so incredible, the fact that we can do almost any type of hunting or fishing without traveling far from home. As you may have already realized I am an avid outdoorsman, and have spent as much time in the field and water as most grown men. In the coming weeks I intend to cover many areas of hunting and fishing from East Texas to the Gulf of Mexico. I plan to write about all types of hunting and fishing, from rabbit hunting to whitetails, and from perch jerking to specks. I encourage you to take what I say with a grain of salt and have faith that the salt is worth far more, but hope you enjoy my writing. So untill next time do your part to help clear the skies shoot a duck. Join us next week in the new DFP Outdoors! |
