Jacks honored for hardwork on gridiron

Several Diboll Lumberjacks have been recognized on several different lists for their outstanding play on the football field during the 2008 season.

Jacolby Spencer led the way for the hometown boys with his Class 18-3A All District Offensive MVP.

Joining Spencer with All first team offense honors at runningback; Kendall Jackson, fullback; Cornelius Polk, Jonathan Coleman and Carlos Palomo; offensive line, Nick Cortines and Alex Castillo wide receiver.

Castillo was also named as the first team place kicker.

All second team offensive members are Terrance Taylor; runningback, Chris DeJesus and JJ Ojeda; offensive line, Antonio Johson; tight end, and William Tudmon; wide receiver.

On the first team defense are Caleb Cauley and Kamran McCullom; defensive line, Adrian Vasquez and Rafael Villanueva; linebacker, Deantrey Loche and Cody Stifle; defensive back.

The second team Jaime Palacio; defensive line, Quincy Hudspeth and Chase Oliver; linebacker, Chris Bailey and Alex Castillo rounded out the 18-3A best with their defensive back selections.

Local fan website www.eastexsports.com also named Loche to the Class 3A-5A All East Texas Second team for his play.

Honorable Mentions on the list are Jacolby Spencer, Castillo and Vasquez.
