Lady Jacks win pair of tough playoff contests

In case you have any heart problems or take blood pressure medicine and have yet to attend a Diboll Lady Jack postseason contest, well if you do plan on it bring your meds.

The Lady Jacks have been embroiled in some real hard nosed dog fights thus far, and by all indications the road to the Class 3A Texas High School Girls Basketball Title is going to be right on par with the action of a Road Warrior movie.

Monday night the Lady Jacks fought to the bitter end, and end is an understatement, to defeat the Crocket Lady Bulldogs by a final of 45-43.

The game never was totally in the hands of the Lady Jacks, but they never quit on themselves and were able to rely on foul plagued Vanessa Jones and Chelsea Burns on the defensive end of the court to give Nikki Greene the night's two most important shots on the evening.

Greene tied up and put the Lady Jacks ahead finally on the night in the final seconds of the contest.

Now the ladies will have their sights set on the Regional Tournamnet at Sam Houston State Universities Johnson Coliseum.

Play begins this Friday evening at 6:15pm against the winner of last night's Madisonville vs. Taylor contest.
