Diboll school trustees last week agreed to increase teaching stipends in three teaching areas that are in high demand and granted a raise to summer school classroom workers. Teachers of math, science and bilingual Spanish teachers will get the increased stipends, which are payments in excess of base teacher pay. More...

Benjamin Franklin (Bennie) Spivey, 84, of Lufkin was born in Angelina County, the son of the late Willie Andrew and Verde Aline (Lunsford) Spivey and passed away May 2, 2009 in Diboll, Texas. AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas officials postponed all public high school athletic and academic competitions on Wednesday until May 11 because of the swine flu outbreak.
