This Saturday, May 16, former Harlem Globetrotter Reggie Dixon will be in Diboll to host a celebrity basketball game. Last week, he was in town to speak with the kids at Diboll Elementary and Diboll Junior High. Dixon spoke with the kids about staying in school while staying out of trouble. More ... Resuming Regionals Two weeks after the event was originally scheduled, the regional track and field meet will commense this Friday and Saturday in Humble. The finals of the field events will take place on Friday along with the preliminary heats for track events. The Diboll High School baseball team was scheduled to play at Central High School on May 1. Before they could take the field, swine flu hysteria swept over the nation. Due to the amount of cases of the disease in the state of Texas, Governor Rick Perry postponned every UIL event until May 11. More ... And for the second straight game, the Roadrunners just couldn't generate the offense needed to win a game. More ... More ... Plane enthusiasts of all generations came out to Saturday's fajita social at the Angelina County airport. On the second Saturday of each month, the EAA hosts the event where pilots from all over Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Ohklahoma fly their planes in to gather with old and new friends alike in the name of aviation. At around 2 p.m. when the event is winding down, planes take to the air with local children ages 8-17 to introduce them to the friendly skies. The junior varsity team played in a highly competitive game that saw Central tie the game in their last at-bat. During the varsity game, it was up to the Lumberjacks to comeback in their final at-bat of the season. They scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh and held off a Central rally attempt to finish off their 2009 season with a 7-4 road victory. More ... In conjunction with the celebrity all-star game he is hosting this Saturday at the Diboll High School gym, former Harlem Globetrotter Reggie Dixon met with kids from Diboll Elementary and Diboll Junior High last Friday.
