4th of July Fun

Diboll and Angelina County residents will descend on Ellen Trout Zoo in Lufkin for July 4th festivities Saturday. A full schedule of events begins at 1 p.m. and concludes with a fireworks show at 9:15.

Activities include a fishing derby, food, arts and crafts booths, an inflatable moon walk, big sliode and games. Musical entertainment will be staged along the lakefront all day.

The fireworks will be set to music broadcast on K-Fox FM (95.5) radio. The zoo and Z&OO railroad will open at 9 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

Free shuttle buses from Lufkin High School to the zoo will be provided by Lufkin school district. Handicapped parking at the zoo will be limited because of ongoing construction.
