Sunday's fire on the land behind the Temple corporate offices shows why the city is under a burn ban. Even with the light afternoon showers later that day, volunteer fireman Darrell Roberts explains the neccessity for the ban. "It's getting bad, it's getting real dry, and it doesn't look like relief is on the way." Although Angelina County is not under a burn ban, city officials wanted to take a proactive approach to limit the effects fires can have. Not only are fires dangerous, they can be expensive, too, when things like property damage are considered. So until further notice, the city limits of Diboll are under a burn ban.
