Senate Appropriations Committee approves bill with funding for water infrastructure

U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison, a member of the Senate Appropriations Committee, today announced that the committee has approved $400,000 to expand water infrastructure in Lufkin. The bill is now ready to be approved by the full Senate.

"As population in the region continues to grow, demand for water is also increasing," Hutchison said. "This funding will help alleviate water supply problems in the area and increase growth potential in the Lufkin area."

The City of Lufkin will be able to use the funding to develop infrastructure, storage and treatment capacity to increase water supply in the region.
