Trojans dominate Lumberjacks
      For the third time in four games, the Lumberjack defense gave up 60+ points in a losing effort. Against Newton and Kirbyville, the Jack’s were unable to stop two of the state’s premier running games. The Coldspring Trojans used a more balanced attack to dissect Diboll as they both ran and threw for over 200 yards each.

Volleyball torches ranked Cayuga
      Facing one of their toughest road tests of the year, the Lady Jack volleyball team made a 225 mile round-trip to Cayuga last week to take on the number three ranked 1A team in the state of Texas. From the time they stepped off the bus, the ladies from Diboll dominated this match.

Toyota Texas Bass Classic comes to Lake Conroe
      LAKE CONROE, Texas — The Toyota Texas Bass Classic, a Professional Anglers Association (PAA) sanctioned event, is only one month away from its debut on Lake Conroe. The October 16 — 18 competition benefits Texas Parks & Wildlife Department (TPWD) efforts to introduce young people and urban families to fishing and the outdoors.

Jacks of the Week
Kendal Mitchell and Tony Ramos
      These two cross country runners set personal records at the Lumberjack Invitational hosted by SFA. Mitchell ran two miles in 13:33 and Ramos ran a 5k (3.1 miles) in 18:53 to record their new personal best times.

Big XII news and notes
      Texas A&M rode the arm of quaterback Jerrod Johnson and the big play of receiver Uzoma Nwachukwu to beat the Aggies of Utah State 38-30 at Kyle Field on Saturday night. Nwachakwu’s play was especially huge because of a second quarter injury to leading receiver Jeff Fuller that will see the senior miss the next 4-6 weeks with a cracked fibula.

Sam Rayburn fishing report
     09-20-09 Water Temp.84 Normal pool 164.40 Water Clarity 2 feet Sam Rayburn is just a little more than 4 feet low at 159.80 ft and the water temperature has been holding around 84 degrees. Water color is clear in most of the pockets, clearing more as you move south. Sam Rayburn is still dropping slowly as they pull more water each day.
