How Can I Help Protect the Environment?

By Briana Martinez, Ms. Nancy Lee’s class

What millions of us don’t know is we are harming the environment. By the little things we do we can make a difference. What I’m going to do may seem pretty small but they’ll make a huge difference.

Picking up a candy wrapper is a small way to help. I could use both sides of my paper while I draw. I could get a group of friends together and clean-up the park, also I could start a recycling clubs for local schools. Adopting a highway is another way I could help.

Some other ways I could help are conserving water by shortening my showers and avoiding letting the water run while I brush my teeth. Things like that make big differences.

Air pollution is also very bad. I could write a letter to a factory who pollutes the air. I could tell them how much damage they are doing.

Instead of wasting electricity by watching TV. I could read a book or play outside. I can do many things to help the environment.

I used to think only adults could make a difference. Now I know kids can make a difference any way that I can.
