‘Santa, Friends’

“Santa and Friends” holiday celebration will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 17 at the Temple Civic Center in Diboll. The free event will feature Christmas characters, a movie, story time, cookie and cake walks to Christmas music, craft station, a coloring station, candy canes and more. Any organization or group that would like to sponsor a booth or work one should call Crystal Williams, civic center director, at 829-4888.

Trinity Mission Lighting Cerem ony

The second annual Trinity Mission of Diboll Lighting Ceremony Memorial Service will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 7, at Trinity Mission. Bring a cross in memory of your loved one for the Memorial Wall. There will be refreshments and the Temple Elementary choir will entertain. RSVP: Stephanie Cook: 936-526-3542.

Academic nominations Nominations for placement in the Advanced Academic Services Gifted and Talented Program at Diboll ISD for students in grades kindergarten through 11 are now open until Dec. 11. Letters announcing the opening of nominations have been sent home with students. If you did not receive a letter or if you have questions about the program, please notify the appropriate campus or call Diane Pennington, Gifted and Talented coordinator, at 829-5419 or e-mail her at dpennington@ dibollisd.com.
