Thoughts from the Tack Room
This morning as I drove down the road, I couldn’t help but see that this ole East Texas ground is getting mighty soft. Just about every place where someone got off from the beaten path, there were a couple of ruts out there. Some of them even looked like there may have been a need fer some help to get back on the trail again.
Yes, this ole land around here gets you stuck right fast at times. Not only that, but come summer time that ole gate post is not going to be in the same spot that it is now; no, sure won’t be. That gate may be fittin just right this week, but come dry weather, there is going to be enough gap at the end of that gate there to ride yur horse thru.
Wet land or Dry land; soft land or hard land, take yur pick, and it can be found in these parts.
Think about it, that’s kinda unstable ain’t it? There is some real stable and solid ground that we can stand on, though. Yep, and it’s the Word of God. Jesus tells us in Matthew 7:24-27 that if we hear His words and do what He says, then we are building on a SOLID ROCK. Yep, running around this ole world like we got better sense, and following the ways of this old world system; folks, we’re bound and determined to get stuck---plum up to the drive to boot. But when we latch on to Jesus and His word, and start doin’ what He says, then folks, we are on the HIGH and DRY road.
