Political forum
The Beulah Community Center is holding a Political Forum and Bake Auction Fundraiser at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, at the center, 12182 FM 58 in Lufkin. Democrat and Republican candidates will speak during the free forum. Cookies and coffee will be served, and a bake auction will be held to raise funds for the community center.
Earthquake teacakes
Burke UMC is baking and selling Earthquake Teacakes as a fundraiser for Haiti. A dozen go for $4. All proceeds go to the United Methodist Committee On Relief. To order through Feb. 9, call Pam Burnette at 829- 4631. They will be delivered Saturday, Feb. 13.
Brown Bag it!
The T.L.L. Temple Memorial Library will have its Brown Bag Dine-in from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9. Memorial Hospital Stroke Center will present “What You Should Know About Strokes from 12:15 to 12:45 p.m. Bring your lunch; the library furnishes water, ice and snacks.
Enchanted Evening
Project Graduation presents Enchanted Evening at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at First Baptist Church- Diboll’s fellowship hall. The meal includes steak, baked potato and all the trimmings. $15 for singles; $25 for couples. Only 100 sit down seats are available so get your ticket soon. Go Texan Dance
The Angelina County Go Texan Committee will have a Valentine Dance and Steak Dinner from 7-11 p.m. at J.R.’s Barn. Tickets are $50 per couple and available at Pouland’s or from any committee member.
Valentine Dance
The Lufkin Dance Club is hosting a Valentine Dance with Silver Eagles Band. Bring snacks at 7 p.m. The dance is from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Members are $5 and guests are $6.
