Funeral services for James “Big John” McGuire, 76, of Diboll were held Sunday, Jan. 31, 2010, at Carroway Funeral Home Chapel. Interment followed at Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Mr. McGuire was born June 18, 1933, in Dixie, La., and died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, at a local hospital.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Lillie Mae McGuire of Diboll; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Judie McGuire and Michael and Pat McGuire, all of Diboll; daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Mark Shepherd of Lufkin and Sandy and Corry Crager of Hewitt; 15 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three brothers; two sisters; and several other special family members, friends and family.
