      The Diboll Lady ‘Jack soccer team earned their first win of the season with a dominating 11-1 victory over the Tenaha Lady Tigers in Lumberjack Stadium last Friday night.

With the season coming to an end, Lady ‘Jack basketball looks to punch their post-season ticket
      After taking care of business against Rusk and Center last week, the Diboll girl’s basketball team is one game away from clinching a post-season birth. There is a possibility that they will accomplish that feat before this paper hits local news stands. A win against Carthage on Wall of Honor night (Feb. 2) would secure the Lady ‘Jacks spot in the state-wide tournament.

Power lifters compete, excel in Lufkin event
      11 members of the Diboll Power Lifting team competed in the Lufkin meet held last week in the Panthers in-door practice facility. Of those 11 ‘Jacks, two finished atop their weight class, one finished second, and one finished third.

Minor changes
Redistricting adds one team to 18-3A while removing pair
      Monday’s announcement of the state-wide redistricting provides some small changes starting next fall. The good news is, two-time defending 3A football champion Carthage is no longer in the ‘Jacks district. The bad news is, they were replaced by Kirbyville, two-time runners-up in 2A state football the past two years.

      Pound for pound, Waters is one of the strongest Lumberjacks. In Lufkin last week, he squatted 305 pounds, benched 160 pounds, and dead lifted 300 pounds to claim the top spot in the 132 pound weight class.
