Trust God to direct best path

Thoughts from the Tack Room with Pastor Charles Sheppard

There has been more than one time in my younger years that I knew that I was on the right trail. There was fer sure no doubt about it in my own mind, so like a bull I jest walked right on into it. Hey, I knew that I was at least 10 foot tall, and bullet proof to boot. And most of the time, I would find me havin’ to git up from bein’ knocked down some, and there was more than one wound to my pride that had to be mended up.

We have all been there, done that -- some even spent the money and got the T-shirt to boot, along with some scars that may still hurt, even today, many years down the trail. Naw, when we take control, and want to steer things around to suit us, well, there is most likely gonna be some fallin’ takin’ place, and in short order.

Proverbs 3: 5 and 6 tells us that we need to trust God, and that He will direct our path. Yep, many years ago, I learned that I didn’t want Jesus as my co-pilot, He needed to be leadin’ and drivin’. He has to be the pilot, and I need to be a followin’ Him. Jest like the song says, ‘Jesus take the wheel…’ we need to be doing that, every day. Hey folks, Jesus has a great big future and a hope fer us, and the only way that we’re gonna get there is by lettin’ Him do the drivin’.

This is Pastor Chuck down at 1st Assembly of God here in Diboll, ‘Helpin’ Each Other Along the Trail to Eternity’, and this is a thought from this ole cowboy’s tack room.
